Library Media Specialist of the Year Award
GLMA sponsors the Georgia School Library Media Specialist of the Year (LMSOTY) award to recognize K-12 library media specialists with dynamic, innovative programs and whose instructional collaborations foster student engagement and achievement.
The Georgia Library Media Specialist of the Year is selected from the GLMA Regional winners. Districts without a LMSOTY Regional contest may self-nominate. The winner will be announced at the GLMA Summer Institute in June.
Prizes

System Level Recipients – Prize determined by each local school system.

Region Level Recipients - $100 prize and a plaque commemorating the LMSOTY distinction

State Level Recipient - $300, a plaque commemorating the LMSOTY state honor, and a one-year membership to GAIT and GLMA
Criteria:

The applicant must be a member of GLMA.

The applicant must have 3 or more years of experience as a K-12 certified library media specialist.

Previous recipients of this award may not apply for 3 years after being honored as State Library Media Specialist of the Year

Current GLMA LMSOTY Awards Committee members are not eligible for the LMSOTY award

Names of the school, district, and school librarian should appear ONLY on the front page, not the narrative, in order to ensure impartial judging.
